Jackson’s 1st presidential year revealed

Volume set to offer insight into Jacksonian era in American politics

The seventh volume of “The Papers of Andrew Jackson” was officially released last week, marking the first of what editors are calling “the core” of the volume series.

Volume VII, 1829, is an 800-page tome of Andrew Jackson’s first year in the White House. The next eight volumes, one for each year of his presidency, will deal with Jackson and what is known as the Jacksonian era in American politics, says Dan Feller, who succeeds Harold D. Moser as editor/director of the papers of Andrew Jackson at the University of Tennessee in the Department of History.

The book is published by the University of Tennessee Press. Copies of the book are available either at the UT Bookstore on campus or at UTPress.org.
